When I think of panning for gold, I usually think of an old man in the midwest of The United States, sifting through mud- it’s sort of a stereotypical picture.

In reality, there are ways to pan for gold on the streets of NYC. This particular man visits the diamond district and examines the ground for valuable particles.

This video is a clip from Penn and Teller’s new show “Tell a Lie” in which six stories are presented, with one of them being a lie. This story, however shocking it may be, is true.

Obviously this kind of skill isn’t very easy to acquire and it’s not something that the average person with a metal detector could accomplish.
