Paul McCartney is a living legend, one of the few left alive at this point in time. Along with John Lennon, he was responsible for a wealth of brilliant musical compositions, and as part of The Beatles was part of the best pop group in the world.
Last night saw McCartney return to the site of one of The Beatles first performances in the U.S. as he appeared on The Late Show With David Letterman. McCartney gave an interview and also performed live to a huge crowd on Broadway.
McCartney and his band played The Beatles classic Get Back and Sing the Changes from his current solo album, Electric Arguments. The first song got the crowd pumping because everyone knew it, the second, as good as it was, not so much.
I must confess to not liking McCartney’s solo stuff or in fact anything he’s done since The Beatles. He worked so well with Lennon yet neither of them appealed in quite the same way on their own. Still, this rooftop performance was quite a show.
