They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but I’m not sure that old adage really rings true on this occasion. As the host of VH1 Divas, Paula Abdul had the perfect opportunity to mock her replacement as American Idol judge, Ellen Degeneres.
And boy did she take that opportunity.
Paula Abdul was a judge on American Idol alongside Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson for eight years before she was replaced this week with Ellen Degeneres, best known as a television host, actress, comedian, and of course famous lesbian.
Paula Abdul had until now remained silent on the change of personnel but that all changed when she hosted VH1 Divas. The video shows her dressed as Ellen and mocking all her moves and little traits. But now before Paula nearly came a cropper while lip-syncing in high heels.
So overall there was one moment of intentional hilarity beaten into the ground by an unintentional and unplanned moment. Isn’t that always the way?
