Pavarotti has sadly died of kidney failure, after years of suffering from pancreatic cancer. While alive he was the greatest tenor on earth, and one of the best singers to grace humankind.
Even after his death, his performances have the power to delight and amaze, and this is one of his finest. While watching it I felt in awe and actually got goosebumps on my arms.
I first heard Pavarotti sing Nessun Dorma about 15 years ago, and still to this day, I stop and listen whenever I hear it on the television or radio.
Pavarotti had a magnificent career, not only singing solo, but also as the Three Tenors with Jose Carreras and Placido Domingo. He also sand with some pop legends including James Brown, and Barry White.
It truly is a sad loss, and a sad day for music lovers everywhere. But wherever he is now, he can be sure that millions of people are still enjoying his incredible performances such as this one.
