This is the dream behind Phonebloks, a new smartphone concept from Dave Hakkens.
Having recently witnessed Apple trying to sell the exact same phone as last year by adding an S to the end of the name, this attempt at changing the way the industry works appeals greatly.
Sadly, Phonebloks stands little chance of ever evolving from a mere concept to a real product. However much demand for such a product there may be, the hardware companies will not bite.
Can you imagine Apple and Samsung giving up what they have to become just a small part of a larger puzzle? No, I didn’t think so.
