The Playstation Network, the online portion of the PS3, is down again. Unfortunate news for all those people who regularly game online against others. But that isn’t the only thing the PSN does.
This video explores the PSN a little, with GameTrailers showing us around the Playstation Network and some of the features contained therein.
As well as the ability to head online to game against other people around the world, the PSN contains the Playstation Store (where you can buy games, download demos, and other stuff), Playstation Home (a virtual MMO-style environment), to name just two.
The combination of these features is why it hits PS3 owners so hard when the PSN is down. Because the PS3 acts as a veritable home entertainment system, in the same way the Xbox 360 does. Let’s hope it comes back online soon.
