Prince Charles and his wife Camilla got caught in the middle of a student protest against increased university fees. They found their car having stuff thrown at it, and people shouting anti-royal statements.
The British government yesterday saw its endeavor to increase the fees paid by university students tripled passed into law. And students showed their displeasure at the changes by protesting violently.
Students have been protesting for weeks now, but most have been peaceful. But last night parliament passed the new fees into law, and some of the protesters lost it, turning violent towards anything within their reach.
Unfortunately for the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, they happened to be traveling to the theater at the time, and this shows what happened when the protesters realized who they were.
That must have been scary for the couple, but the protesters have a point. And I blame the government rather than the protesters themselves.
