Here are the top 10 songs Led Zeppelin did that are so closely related to their originals that the resemblance was brought up in court. Some of these original artists sued decades later and won- and more importantly their credit is given on re-issued albums.
After hearing these songs, many people are now starting to call Led Zeppelin “The Greatest Cover Band of All Time.” So why were so many songs ripped off and never found out about? Probably due to racism since most of these musicians were black blues artists.
In a 1993 interview about the lawsuits, Jimmy Page said, “I always made sure to come up with some variation…in most cases, you would never know what the original source could be. So most of the comparisons rest on the lyrics. And Robert was supposed to change the lyrics, and he didn’t always do that… we did try to do the right thing.”
