This generation’s console war is busily going on between Nintendo, with the Wii, Microsoft, with the Xbox 360, and Sony, with the PS3. The latter is in a definite third place at this stage of proceedings but maybe things are about to change.
This week has seen two huge things happen in the world of the Playstation 3. First, the new PS3 Slim has been released, cheaper, smaller, and more attractive to mainstream gamers, and second, the new PS3 firmware 3.00 update has been released.
Playstation 3 Firmware v3.00 is available now to all PS3 owners and can be downloaded to their system via an Internet connection. There are a few notable changes to the way things work and a number of improvements, although it really isn’t the hugely important update many assumed it would be.
This video sees the new improvement officially unveiled. If you were expecting great things then you’ll probably be disappointed because most of the stuff is dull at best. At least it’s free, unlike the Xbox 360.
