Queen Elizabeth II is currently enjoying her Diamond Jubilee commemorating 60 years on the throne. That’s quite an achievement only matched by Queen Victoria.
To celebrate a flotilla of vessels sailed down the River Thames, and this is a time-lapse video all 1,000 traveling up the stretch of water.
The full pageant lasted more than three hours, with the boats all completing the 7-mile route at just 4 knots (4.6 miles) per hour. And all while it was gray, wet, and windy. As London usually is.
I would have hated actually standing in the horrible weather watching this dull procession, but seeing it condensed into just 40 seconds while sitting cozy and warm in my house is perfect.
