Let me say straight away that I don’t hate cops. They are after all just people doing their job, and a very difficult one at that… but this song rocks!
I loved the N.W.A. original when it first came out, and this cover takes it up a notch with Tom Morello’s trademark whiny guitar, and singer Zack de la Rocha killing the lyrics.
The video isn’t official, instead showing Video clips and stills of police brutality. That’s the big problem, there are many cases of the police being too heavy-handed, and that’s why good cops get a bad name.
The lyrics may be harsh, but they were written by people experiencing an unfair system in the States when the colour of your skin, or size of your bank balance can affect your chances of getting arrested.
