Remembering Phil Everly News Video | One Half Of The Everly Brothers Dies Aged 74

28 sec read

The Everly Brothers are sadly now just the The Everly Brother, as Phil Everly, one half of the legendary music duo, has died at the age of 74 of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Phil Everly had smoked all his life, and that resulted in him suffering from lung disease and eventually dying of complications resulting from that illness.

The Everly Brothers were responsible for some of the biggest hits of the 20th century, with songs such as Wake Up Little Suzie, Bye Bye Love, and All I Have To Do Is Dream now considered classics.

Phil and his brother Don had an acrimonious split on stage in 1973 and didn’t talk to each other for a decade afterwards. But they eventually made up and became extremely close once more.

Rest In Peace, Phil Everly, 1939-2014.
