It looks for all the world like Tyler the Creator has come out as gay. He’s been dropping hints regarding his sexuality for years, but may now finally feel able to come out of the closet.
As discussed in this video, Tyler drops several hints into the lyrics of songs on his new album, Scum F*** Flower Boy, which leaked online over the weekend.
Reading between the lines it looks as though Tyler has been wanting to come out for years but hasn’t felt able to due to the homophobia that still exists.
There is another possibility, of course, which it that this is all an attempt to get publicity for the new album. In which case it’s cynical, but working.
