I think you realize you’re getting older when the people you idolize begin to pass away. We lost another of my heroes yesterday, Richard Wright from Pink Floyd.
In his role as keyboardist, Richard didn’t get the accolades of David Gilmour or Roger Waters. But his influence on this massive psychedelic rock band can never be underestimated.
He was a founding member, a chief songwriter, and he was even known to play the occasional wind instrument.
The ultimate quiet achiever, Richard’s death from cancer is a massive blow, not just to Pink Floyd and their fans but to the music industry as a whole. Richard, how I wish you were here.
