There has been a strange disconnect in the way different athletes have celebrated winning gold medals at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Some have been overwhelmed with joy, while others have taken it all in their stride.
Discus champion Robert Harting is definitely in the former camp, putting on quite a show after he won with a throw of 68.27 meters.
Harting was very happy to have won the gold medal, rushing over to the crowd and grabbing the German flags thrown at him. He then let the photographers get in position before ripping his top off in the style of The Incredible Hulk.
Lastly, and most impressively, Harting then completed the 100-meters hurdles course set out for the ladies final. For a big (read giant) guy that’s a pretty damn impressive display of athleticism.
