Robert Pattinson opened about his relationship during an interview on the Howard Stern show on Tuesday. The Twilight star said he and FKA Twigs are still “kind of” engaged.
When Stern asked Pattison if he was still engaged to the 29-year-old British singer, he replied: “Yeah, kind of.”
The couple got engaged in 2015 after dating for six months.
Pattinson and Twigs have managed to stay under the radar away from the paparazzi. The last time the two were photographed out in public was at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival two months ago. Pattison’s film Good Time received a standing ovation.
When asked about keeping his relationship out of the spotlight and away from fans, Pattinson said, “It’s one of the most frustrating things in the world. You have to make a decision whether you want to let the crazy people in.”
Pattinson’s relationship with Kristin Stewart, fellow Twilight cast member, caused a frenzy in the media.
“To protect it you kind of think I want to create a big boundary then it’s difficult for your relationship,” he added.
While difficult to keep private, the couple is still going strong. Pattinson gushed about his lady, “She’s amazing. She’s super talented.”
During the interview, Pattison also shared a truth from his past: he was kicked out of school for selling porno magazines. The actor would steal magazines from a local store and sell them to classmates at a private school in England for $30 a piece.
“I used to go in and take, one or two, and the put them in my bag. I was in my school uniform when I was doing it, and it was kind of risky,” he said. “At the end, I got so cocky that I would take the entire rack.”
An employee eventually caught Pattinson filling up his backpack with the magazines. After notifying the school, Pattinson was expelled.
