This video starts slowly but then comes alive as the Lego-built robot solves the Rubik’s Cube in under three minutes. Which depresses me because I’ve never actually managed to solve one myself!
This robot might not be as quick at solving Rubik’s Cube as some of the genius humans but this is still a mightily impressive piece of programming.
The robot starts by analyzing each side of the Rubik’s Cube, with a camera obviously noting the position of each colored square before setting the robot arm off to do its job.
I might have to ask for a Rubik’s Cube for Christmas now because it’s one of the few logic puzzles to have ever stumped me. That’s too much of a blow to the old ego for me, and it needs rectifying. Maybe I should also build a Tilted Twister.
