The Pamplona bull runs are clearly lots of fun. What isn’t to love about an annual event which sees people gored to death and injured in the crush, and which ends with bulls being killed in front of a baying mob?
The Running of The Bulls is a 400-year-old event which is held annually in Pamplona, Spain. It sees bulls released to run the streets, goaded on by men and women (but mostly men) wearing red to enrage the animals.
They are siphoned into an arena where the bulls will be fought by more ridiculous men wearing even more ridiculous costumes. And then they are killed in what can only be described as a bloodbath.
The video embedded above shows a man being gored in the neck by a bull during the 2009 Pamplona bull runs. He later died in hospital. While I feel sorry for the man and his family, what the hell was he doing there in the first place, especially when the risks are more than clear.
