Rush Limbaugh graced CPAC (the Conservative Political Action Conference) with his narrow-minded presence today and gave FOX News lovers what they wanted to hear. Apparently, the room was filled with applause hour and a-half before he even spoke.
Of course, in retrospect I’m sure this speech will go down in history as the most negative one ever told by the most bigoted 2012 Republican presidential nominee.
“Did the Democrats want the war of Iraq to fail? They certainly did. And they not only wanted the war in Iraq to fail they proclaimed it a failure…. They hoped George Bush failed. So what is so strange about being honest and saying I want Barack Obama to fail?”
As you can probably tell from the quote above, the problem with Rush’s reasoning is his assumption that every Democrat wanted the Bush administration and the war in Iraq to fail. Sorry Rush, but they managed to fail because of bad leadership and outright corruption
The most disgusting part of the speech has to be the end when he cleverly states that America is “under assault from within.” Obviously, the man still has nightmares of a “battle” with “the magic negro.”
Somebody needs to tell Rush that the United States is constantly changing. It has never remained the same for any generation that was “born into” the privilege of being an American. Perhaps what the man really yearns for isn’t “better” leadership but a time machine so he can go back to 1951.
