Susan Taylor, a 34-year-old from Leicestershire, England, has died while trying to swim across the Channel (the stretch of water between England and France) for charity.
It’s very rare for someone to die swimming the channel, with only six people having done so in the past 150 years. However, it’s still an extreme sport and one hell of a challenge.
The only good thing to come from this tragedy is that in light of Taylor’s death the fundraising total for the charities she was supporting have shot up massively.
This means, at the very least, that she will leave a legacy, both of doing good for others, and for being the cause of some much-needed funds reaching people in need.
