The Republican running mate and Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin has been heavily criticized for her tough anti-abortion stance. Here she opens up to Katie Couric about her controversial views.
She talks about how she would like to see women supporting life, which sounds fine in theory. But when Katie gives her the example of a 15-year-old victim of incest who becomes pregnant, Sarah refuses to budge. Nevermind the fact that a teenage girl is far from being a woman, or that the idea of one carrying such a baby to term is deplorable to most of us.
Sarah chooses her words carefully, stating that she’d never like to see a woman who aborted her trial thrown in jail. But the doctors who perform such operations? Well the jury’s still out on that one.
