Hurricane Ophelia, or at least what’s left of it, is currently battering the west coast of Ireland. And one person is reported to have died as a result already.
Despite being officially classified as a post-tropical cyclone, Hurricane Ophelia is still more than capable of causing death and destruction.
This is especially true in the UK and Ireland, which aren’t used to these types of storms. So the buildings aren’t built to withstand high winds.
Perhaps it’s pure coincidence, but this year seems to have been a particularly bad one for killer storms. And as someone who lived through Hurricane Irma, I can tell you they’re no fun.
