This video shows the Bayou Corne sinkhole in Louisiana swallowing a line of trees as if they’re nothing more than driftwood. Or possibly even toothpicks.
Sinkholes are a scary phenomenon, whatever form they take and location they crop up in. And they’re surprisingly common, especially in the U.S.
The recent one on Florida which swallowed houses was shocking, but to see things disappearing underwater may top even that. These are tall, mature trees too.
I can’t quite believe someone filmed this. If I knew there was a sinkhole anywhere close by I’d run the other way as fast as my legs would take me.
