A Virgin Atlantic jumbo jet was forced to make an emergency landing at Gatwick Airport after one of its landing gears malfunctioned shortly after take-off.
This video shows the emergency landing in full, with the plane coming into land, successfully touching down, and then remaining on the runway until the emergency services were sure it was safe to unload passengers.
Flight VS43 was en-route to Las Vegas when the landing gear under the right wing jammed. Numerous attempts to dislodge it were unsuccessful, forcing the pilot to turn back.
The emergency landing was later described as textbook, with everyone on board suffering nothing more than shredded nerves and nausea. However, the loo was probably blocked up after such an ordeal.
