Scathing EA Shuts Down Visceral Games Video | Dead Space Developer Is No More

22 sec read

EA has shut down Visceral Studios, which was best known for developing Dead Space, and which was working on a new Star Wars game when the plug was pulled.

What appears to have pushed Visceral Games over the abyss is EA’s devotion to games-as-a-service. Which are endless, expandable games such as Destiny.

It looks as though Visceral was making a linear, story-driven Star Wars game, and that didn’t align with what EA wants from its titles.

This is a crying shame, as an Uncharted-style game set in the Star Wars universe would have been utterly amazing. Instead, we’re going to get more loot boxes and microtransactions.
