There’s a new Michael Bay movie out… starring Mark Wahlberg and The Rock… and it’s a comedy based on a real-life heinous crime from just a few years ago.
What’s not to like about Pain & Gain?!
You may have picked up on my sarcasm there, which was less obvious than the fact you should avoid Pain & Gain at all costs.
If the fact it’s directed by Michael Bay and stars Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson isn’t enough to scare you off, then how about the fact it’s a comedy about murder and torture that actually happened.
Dark comedies can be great, but there are lines you don’t cross. Sadly, Bay crossed them all with Pain & Gain. Just be thankful Mark Kermode is there to rip this film to shreds.
