Apparently, contact lenses + stem cells = the cure for blindness.
By simply placing eye stem cells into a culture for 10 days with contact lenses, British scientists have come up with a very effective way of helping the vision impaired. Of the 3 patients involved in their study, 2 are no longer legally blind and the other one can now pass a drivers test.
Of course, the one who has the best vision started out with a less extreme case of vision problems, but I think we can all agree that seeing big letters on an eye chart is better than seeing nothing. So far the patients have only been tested for the last 18 months.
I just hope this same process applies to skin as well; who wouldn’t want to get rid of acne scars?
