The BBC documentary, Scientology And Me, Panorama, will be airing tonight in the UK. Below is a clip which shows BBC reporter John Sweeney going ballistic as he interviews someone from the Church of Scientology.
The following video then shows Sweeney apologizing saying that he wanted to know if he could yell louder than the interviewee.
The videos that you can see above were allegedly released by Scientologists to try and discredit Sweeney and were being filmed as part of Scientology’s own documentary.
Here is what Sweeney has to say about the shouting incident on the BBC website:
"If you are interested in becoming a TV journalist, it is a fine example of how not to do it. I look like an exploding tomato and shout like a jet engine and every time I see it makes me cringe. I apologised almost immediately, Tommy [the Scientologist] carried on as if nothing had happened but meanwhile Scientology had rushed off copies of me losing it to my boss, my boss’s boss and my boss’s boss’s boss, the Director-General of the BBC."

After watching the first couple of videos above it does look like Sweeney is a complete nutter but the news report from the BBC below shows a little more of the shouting match.
It reveals the unnamed scientologist first raising his voice and provoking Sweeney. The BBC report below also looks into other events surrounding the making of the program.
All makes for interesting TV with YouTube at the center of political debate.
