Usually I’m not a fan of any recent Disney movies, but this one isn’t really made by them so I guess it’s ok.
Studio Ghibi is known for their family-friendly anime classics and this latest film looks to be in the same vein.
While a lot of kids grew up on Pixar and Disney animated movies, I grew up watching films like Spirited Away. Even though “The Secret World of Arrietty” is known by some critics as another gem, it has only taken in 1.7 million in the first day of the weekend.
Sure, it’s a horrible number as far as the box office goes, but I didn’t even see a single commercial or ad about it’s release.
