Michael Jackson finally received his public memorial service and private funeral yesterday, nearly two weeks after he passed away. A range of different performers sang to send the King of Pop off, both personal friends of his and singers who merely saw him as a legend.
This group included Shaheen Jafargholi, the Britain’s Got Talent finalist who wowed us all with his vocal skills a few months ago. He sang Who’s Loving You as a tribute to Michael Jackson, and was seen by a huge global audience.
Apart from one decidedly bum section of notes, Jafargholi did a great job, making Britain proud by being our contribution to the memorial. For a kid so young, it was also amazing to see him take the stage full of confidence and seemingly without nerves.
Some of the performances at the Michael Jackson memorial service were spellbinding. But now it’s over, and MJ is safely in the ground, I think it’s maybe time we all moved on. His death was sad but there’s only so long you can mourn for.
