This video shows Sacha Baron Cohen winning the Charlie Chaplin award for Excellence In Comedy at the 2013 Britannia Awards. Oh, and him killing an old woman in a wheelchair. Wait, what?!
All right-thinking people would have realized by now that this wasn’t real, and that Sacha Baron Cohen hasn’t actually killed an old woman by pushing her off the stage.
It’s just a comedy skit designed to shock and fool the audience, and is clearly very much in keeping with the Charlie Chaplin style of physical comedy Which is the whole point.
Does anyone in their right mind think BBC America would take this incident and use it as a trailer for the awards ceremony if someone had actually died?
