AOL’s recent acquisition of Bebo for $850 million hasn’t slowed down any progress of the site. In fact, Bebe has just launched a new web series titled Sofia’s Diary. The “new” show was launched internationally back in 2003 and is already a hit in other countries like Vietnam & Germany.
And now there is finally an English version.
The series follows the success of KateModern, a series that attracted 35 million views in it’s first season, and plays off the same fictional vblog-like style. Each week, the cast will post diary updates 2-3 minutes in length and will often ask the viewers how to handle a situation.
Sofia’s Diary Promo
This is the promotional trailer that includes the final cast of the show chosen by Sony Pictures Television International. Auditions for the part were held last fall; you can see the good, mediocre, and sometimes awful online auditions here.
