SOPA and PIPA are two pieces of legislation threatening to kill the internet as we know it. And you know what that means people: no more LOLcats.

This protest song, a parody of Don McLean’s “American Pie” imagines a world without those lovable kitties, and indeed many of the websites we take for granted. If you thought doing without Wikipedia today has been tough, consider the long term ramifications of the laws.

Indeed, we wouldn’t have awesome song parodies like this. Perhaps it’s time we all stopped changing our Facebook user pictures and Tweeting about it and took real action!
