If you’re a music buff like me, then you’re also a sucker for those acoustic performances that top 40 artists rarely do. With Studio UGO, you can catch acoustic performances and interviews that you won’t find anywhere else on the net.

This is music at it’s purest. Find out if your favorite band is really as good as they look on TV.

Featured Artists

Twice a month, Studio UGO (short for Underground Online) adds exclusive performances from Alternative, Metal, Indie, and even Hip-Hop artists. The updates typically consist of 2 to 3 songs and at least one interview. Here is a list of a some of the artists featured.

  • Shinedown
  • We Are Scientists
  • Ted Leo
  • They Might Be Giants
  • Tegan & Sara
  • Silversun Pickups
  • Sick Puppies
  • Seether

Acoustic vs. In-Studio

Of course artists like Sick Puppies and Tegan & Sara, who got their break by playing acoustic shows, out-shine those studio-enhanced bands (30 Seconds to Mars anyone?) that can’t seem to replicate the same sound in a stripped-down environment.

But don’t be to quick so judge a band by their reputation, some of those studio-bands might even impress you. Sure, you might just sift through a few sub-par performances, but at least it’s easier on the ears than, say, those camera phone bootlegs on YouTube.
