Gustavo Cerati, the lead singer of Soda Stereo as well as an accomplished solo artist and songwriter, has died at the tender age of 55.
The cause of his untimely death was respiratory failure, which came four years after Cerato slipped into a coma after collapsing due to suffering a blood clot on the brain.
This is Cerati at his best, performing with his Soda Stereo bandmates in an MTV Unplugged session. Soda Stereo originally played between 1982 and 1997 before returning for a reunion tour in 2007.
tributes to Cerati have poured in, led by fellow Latin American stars such as Shakira and Ricky Martin. Even the President of Argentina Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner paid her respects.
