You may well own a plasma television. Alongside LCDs and LEDs they’re a popular type of large-screen TV. But I’m guessing you use it to watch movies on rather than to conduct experiments with different amounts of power.
This guy does the latter, juicing the old plasma television with up to 2000 volts of electricity. The result is a rather stunning light show that has to be seen to be believed.
To understand what is happening here you have to understand how plasma TVs work. Their screens are made up of small chambers containing electrically charged ionized gases.
This guy is overloading these cells with power and they cannot cope with the influx of energy. Which is great for us as we get an intoxicating electrical storm show.
