Today is ‘International Talk Like A Pirate Day’, with September 19 being the one of the year every year that we are all positively encouraged to talk like Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates Of The Caribbean.
I’m usually a stickler for the English language being spoken well, which makes navigating Facebook on a daily basis a bit of a minefield. However, one day out of 365 is fine.
‘International Talk Like A Pirate Day’ has been with us since 1995, and is now celebrated all over the Web and beyond.
The usual rules apply for speaking like a pirate: the letter G no longer exists, Arrr and Argh punctuate every sentence, and a smattering of Ahoy’s, Lasses, and Grog are essential. Enjoy it!
