Terrible South African Anthem Video | Rasta Man Sings at Rugby Union Match

If you needed further proof that reggae outfits and military bands don’t go together, look no further than this video. It’s just a shame that it took an unfortunate incidence at a representative rugby union match to figure it out.

This Rastafarian trio is backed up by a proper military marching band for their performance of the South African national anthem. At least, I think it was the South African national anthem. The two sounds simply don’t work together, and the stoned out vocals of the lead singer probably doesn’t help matters!

I really like the commentator’s diplomatic comment that despite the South African side’s experience, “Not many of them would have experienced their national anthem quite like that.” I’d wager he’s right.
