The Band Perry won the Best New Artist award at the 2011 Country Music Awards. Having sung together since they were very young, they formed The Band Perry in 2005. And now they’re regarded as one of the brightest new artists in country music.

This video actually shows them performing at last year’s ceremony, singing If I Die Young. Their debut, self-titled album was released a little too late for consideration at the 2010 event, but was eligible for this year’s.

The Band Perry subsequently walked away with the award for Best New Artist at the 2011 CMA Awards. The group were presented with the award just moments after performing on stage.

The group comprises two brothers and one sister, all of whom are siblings. They aren’t related in any way to Steve Perry, the lead singer of Journey, though it’s an easy assumption to make given the surnames.
