Rickrolling isn’t a new phenomenon, having been around for a good couple of years now. But this April Fool’s saw Google bring Rickrolling in to the mainstream when it pranked YouTube viewers.
This has somehow lead Rick Astley to be nominated for the Best Act Ever award at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards being held in Liverpool.
As a tribute to the great man, this video shows ‘The Biggest Rickroll Ever’ as a Blinkenlights display is set up on the side of Toronto City Hall.
Rick Astley is clearly a legend, especially on the Web thanks to Rickrolling. But, does that mean he’s the Best Act Ever? Not a hope in hell.
