The Fascinating History of Chief Wahoo Video | Cleveland Indians Logo

The Cleveland Indians have announced that they’re abandoning their longtime mascot and logo, as Chief Wahoo will no longer appear on their uniforms.

This move has been a long time coming, with complaints about the MLB team using a racially insensitive name and image building in recent years.

I’m personally against a lot of the revisionist history stuff going on at the moment, such as tearing down statues of people now seen as problematic.

However, removing this racial caricature from a sports team’s logo and merchandise is the right thing to do. Now let’s just hope the Redskins follow suit.
