Whether you believe in Christianity or not, there’s little doubt that a man named Jesus Christ existed at the time he was meant to. The only question is whether he was the Son of God or just an ordinary man.
The Holy Shroud of Turin is held up as evidence that Jesus was the Son of God and was resurrected like the Bible tells us by those who believe. On the other side of the debate are scientists who firmly believe the whole thing is just a medieval hoax.
This segment of a documentary looks at the evidence on both sides and talks to people involved with the investigation as to the true nature of the Shroud of Turin. It’s clearly a venerated object but whether it’s proof Jesus was resurrected rather depends on your belief system.
The thing to remember is that no-one truly knows what happened that long ago, who or what Jesus was, and what the Shroud of Turin shows. It’s all based on conjecture and faith. Which means it’s an argument that cannot ever be won.
