It’s felt like ages since a reboot of The Lone Ranger was first mooted, and then since the first pictures of Johnny Depp in costume as Tonto emerged. But finally we have the trailer to enjoy. And it’s pretty damn good.
This video shows the official trailer for The Lone Ranger, a movie loosely based on the character originated in the 1930s and featured in a television show through the 1940s and 1950s.
Armie Hammer stars as the titular The Lone Ranger, while Johnny Depp plays his loyal sidekick Tonto, a colorfully-dressed native American. And Tonto looks to get most of the screen time.
The Lone Ranger is set to hit movie theaters on July 3, 2013, and I must admit I’m rather looking forward to it. I’m a sucker for westerns, and a sucker for Johnny Depp, so this should tick a few boxes.
