Mastering the guitar requires bags of time, patience, and a certain amount of talent to begin with. Which is why I’ve stuck to getting good on Guitar Hero instead – it’s more fun and my friends are easily impressed.
There is, however, another option entirely for at least giving the impression that you’re the new Jimi Hendrix, and that clever editing. Which is the method used in this video by the ‘Mystery Guitar Man’.
He uses 1,000 cuts, 6 hours of guitar tabbing, and an hour of shooting footage in order to achieve the dubious but highly original achievement of playing The Marriage Of Figaro by Mozart on the guitar by himself.
The problem is, of course, that this seems like even more work than just getting really good at playing guitar. This guy must have bored but I can’t help thinking there are better ways of spending your time.
