The Monkees – ‘Daydream Believer’ Video | Davy Jones Dies Of Heart Attack At 66

29 sec read

Davy Jones, lead singer of The Monkees, has died of a heart attack at home in Florida. He was just 66-years-old.

This is a classic music video from the days before music videos were the big-budget extravaganzas they now are. It’s fair to say this wouldn’t get passed now, because there’s nothing to it!

Literally nothing happens, apart from a sound stage, a piano, Davy Jones dancing in a very peculiar fashion, and Mickey Dolenz playing a tambourine (until he starts putting his first through it to demonstrate that he’s merely miming). But it’s awesome.

Davy Jones will be missed. He was the one member of The Monkees who looked like he would live forever. Sadly he was the first to go. A sad day for music, a sad day for fans of the group that far outshone their billing.
