The Moral Dilemma Of Self-Driving Cars Video | Veritasium Explores This Hot Topic

It looks highly likely that most cars will be able to drive themselves within the next 20 years. And that’s not an exaggeration.

People will still drive for fun, but the bread and butter driving will be done by artificial intelligence programmed to get humans safely from A to B.

There is a moral dilemma involved here though, because that AI will have to be programmed to act a certain way in a variety of different scenarios. Some of which means people will die.

Veritasium explores another angle of this fascinating topic though, arguing that so many people are already dying on the roads due to driver error that AI will be a better option by far.
