I’m usually not a fan of game shows, but this clip is just priceless. Had the lady on the right actually solved this puzzle, she would have set the record for the most money earned in a single round.
Notice the squeak in the host’s voice when he says, “$62,400.”
Right off the bat it is obvious that the answer to the puzzle is “The Thrill of Victory and the Agony of Defeat.” Yet, for some reason the poor lady can’t guess it. When the other contestant wins the puzzle for only $1,100, it’s almost a slap in the face.
Personally, I haven’t watched “Wheel of Fortune” for years, but I’d rank this up there with the French “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” contestant as one of the most memorable moments in game show history.
