The Muppets is now out for all to see, and it looks as though all of us really should see it. The critics love the movie, the fans love the movie, and I’m guessing the Muppets really love the movie.
Anyone of a certain age will have a particular fondness for the Muppets. They were huge back in the day. Everyone had a favorite. And a TV show and regularly-released movies meant they were everywhere.
And then they disappeared from view. And the world moved on. Luckily it didn’t move on so much that a Muppets comeback was deemed impossible.
Jason Segal is the brains behind The Muppets, the new movie rather than the characters. And he should be applauded for managing to bring them up to date in a big, bold way. Jeremy Jahns, meanwhile, should be applauded for his impression of Animal.
