The Sex Pistols – ‘Anarchy In The UK’ Music Video | When Punk Ruled The Roost

The Sex Pistols need no introduction, they revolutionised music in the UK in the late seventies, and politicised a whole generation of kids along with it.

This video shows their biggest single Anarchy In The UK, which was originally released in 1976, only to be re-recorded and released by the surviving members of the band in October 2007.

Although the lyrics are a mish-mash of thoughts falling from lead singer John Lydon (aka Johnny Rotten’s) head, some are still relevant today, and most of all, the song still kicks ass.

I wish music today would revert to the loud thrashy style of punk, and along with it take the money making machines and manufactured pop bands out of existence. We can but dream.
