The Tales Of Beedle The Bard was announced by J.K. Rowling a whole year ago, but has only been published today. Many book shops opened at midnight to allow fans to pick up their copies of the new non-Harry Potter release.
This YouTube video shows Rowling giving an interview in which she talks all about The Tales Of Beedle The Bard, Harry Potter, and her future projects.
The Tales Of Beedle The Bard contains five fairy tales, which invoke memories of Aesop’s Fables and The Brothers Grimm.
Interestingly, although this new book isn’t about Harry Potter or the world of magic, it is connected to that world. The Tales Of Beedle The Bard appeared in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, and Dumbledore provides notes for the stories.
This book started as just seven handwritten copies, six of which were given to Rowling’s friends, and one of which was auctioned for charity. Amazon bought that copy for almost $4 million.
